Very honoured to be this week’s Horse and Hound ‘Best of my Fun’
And the journey home begins…what an absolutely incredible 5 days it has been. Never at my first international did I think that I would qualify for the Kur, where we finished up an super 10th place and the best Brit. Not bad for never having ridden the music before and never having competed in an Int1 freestyle. Huge thank you to the guys that came along to support, the girls at home, Rhi for making Bam look amazing the whole time, Brenda for being Brenda and finally BamBam for making my dreams come true.
A couple of little blips which pushed us into 11th place in the Int1 but we still made the top 15 so we are through to the Freestyle!!!! Totally over the moon and never thought at my first international we would complete all three!
What can I say?!?! Our first international and we placed an AMAZING 8th in the PSG out of a huge class of 27 of the best on a score of 68+%!!! The highest placed British Rider!!! I can’t thank Brenda enough for letting me compete her boy.
What a fantastic end to a great weekend at Dressage at Hickstead!!! Jen Nissen’s DHI Lightening is crowned regional champion at Advanced Medium, it’s off to Nationals we go!!! Some fantastic results with the chestnut princess to.
We can’t wait for the newest edition of Chiltern and Thames Rider Magazine to hit the shops!!! The training tips article with Rob and Maria Dent’s Nazareno Vicon looks fab 🙂 You can buy yours at www.chilternrider.com or Equine Essentials Direct
Well folks the latest edition of Chiltern and Thames Rider Magazine has just gone to print, keep an eye open for when it hits the shelves for a training tips feature with Rob. Available from Equine Essentials Direct
Very honoured to have been selected to represent Great Britain at the Deauville CDI in France with BamBam!!!
I can’t tell you the feeling having taken on Bam only about 3 years ago when he was at Novice and having taken him all the way to representing our country at Small Tour!!
That one single email has made all those years of long hours, no money and ‘characters’ worthwhile. I know its not Olympic Rings but I feel I am one step closer on the slippery ladder.
None of this would have been possible without the fantastic Lisa Hopkins and Carl Hester, the amazing girls at home on the yard who allow me to be able to bounce around in the arena. Of course, Brenda Reddy for asking me to ride her boy those few years ago and last but not least my friends.
Huge thanks has to go to my sponsors to, without their on going constant support none of this would be possible, Equine Essentials Direct, Stuart Equine, Equilibrium Products and Priory Farm Equine Spa and Rehab Centre
Watch out France RWD are coming for you!!!

Two great days with Sanssouci at the Widmer Dressage Festival. We decided to move her up a level to Medium and she didn’t disappoint!!! Two 2nd placings yesterday which Rob was over the moon with. Today she posted two fantastic scores of 73% & 69+% for 1st place!!!! Not bad for her first go at Medium!!
Back home after another great day at Addington Manor. Brenda Reddy’s BamBam performed another stonking test to finish 2nd with 69+% in the Int1, over the moon is an understatement!!!! Jen Nissen’s DHI Lightening performed a good round in the PSG
What a fantastic first day at the Addington Manor Equestrian Centre Premier League for Brenda Reddy’s BamBam and Jennifer Nissen’s DHI Lightening! Both boys were competing in the two very hot PSG classes, Lightening finished a fantastic 6th place in only his 3rd attempt at this level and wait for it….BamBam posted a 69.12% for 2nd place!!!
Super couple of days for Rob aboard Brenda Reddy’s Bambam at the Keysoe Premier League. Very respectable results among some top combinations.
Wow Wow Wow!!! Absolutely amazing results from my clients competing at the Winter Championships last week. One top 3 placing, two top 5 placings and one top 10 placing!! One very proud and happy trainer right now!!
Home after a busy couple of days at the NAF Winter Dressage Championships. Both horses in the top 5 of the Advanced Medium!!! A 4th place finish for Jennifer Nissen’s DHI Lightening and a 5th place finish for Brenda Reddy’s BamBam. What a great result. Huge thanks to both owners for allowing me to train and compete their amazing animals. To Lisa Hopkins who drove at and ungodly hour to come and warm me up and to super groom Sarah Haddock for making both boys look top notch!!
A fantastic result for DHI Lightening today. His first PSG and he brought home a red rosette!! A couple of areas that need improvement but this will come with the mileage at this level. Over the moon with how he tried so hard!!
One very wet but very successful trip out to Windmill Farm for Rob and the horses. Sanssouci took the honours in both Elementary classes, DHI Lightening claimed the Advanced Medium and BamBam not wanting to be left out took first place in the Int 1!! Smiles all around.
The last of the 2017 Winter regionals and today we trucked down to SummerHouse in Gloucestershire. On board was Kirsty Anthony and my own’s, Sanssouci for the Elementary. A rather exuberant test in places saw us fall into 7th place overall. The good bits were very good with 8.5s but unfortunately the bad bits were bad with a couple of 3s. Nothing like a mare to keep you in your place!!
Storm Doris didn’t stop play for Maria Dent’s, Nazareno Vicon at the Addington Manor Winter Regionals. I am over the moon with a 4th place finish out of a large class. Onwards and upwards to Medium now!!
